The game over screen in this version has a black background showing the blue and white colored GAME OVER text screen with a red shadow and there are two flying pigeons and one perched on the O of OVER on the top of screen. If the player decide to not continue Jim sadly walks to the left of the screen exclaiming a sad "OH NO!" and after this, the player will be brought to the game over srceen. All versions share the same game over screen but not the XBOX360 / PS3 version. In the GBA version the depressing tune will be heard in the continue screen instead of the game over screen with a higher pitch. If you are playing the GB, GBA, GG, SMS, XBOX360 / PS3) versions instead, the player will be taken to the game over screen instead of the usual starting screen. In the Genesis and Sega CD versions, the depressing tune of when you decide not to continue will be played, but with the tune you can also hear Jim lamenting, which you do not hear if you decide not to continue in the Genesis version in the continue screen.

In the SNES, GB, GG, MS-DOS version a shortened tune of the continue screen will be played. If this happens, the player will be brought to the game over screen where it shows the usual white background and in the center there's the large blue and white colored GAME OVER text, like continue text, After that the player will be brought to the starting screen. If the player is playing the Genesis, SNES, Sega CD, Win 95, MS DOS versions after deciding not to continue, the player will be brought to the starting screen like if the player started the game, however in these versions the game over screen can be shown only if the player loses without continues left. Otherwise if the player presses left (NO) Jim sadly walks out to the left of the screen, lamenting (this happen only in SNES, Sega CD, Win 95 versions). Also a cheerful tune is played (this happen only in SNES, GB, GG, SMS versions). If the player press right (YES), Jim will run out to the right of the screen and open the can revealing that there were worms inside. Jumping rope with his face) until the player decides to continue or not. The continue screen shows a white background with a large blue and white colored CONTINUE text is shown at the top, in the center of the cans which are the amount of continues that you have, and the words NO (on left side) and YES (on right side) and in the middle a worm. The player will then be brought to the continue screen. after 2 seconds, BOOM!!! Jim explodes into ash and after he dissolves into the suit. When Jim loses all of his health, the player will then be brought to the death animation screen where there's Jim in a gray background watching why his suit pops.
